Soon after I went on a Holiday to Spain and everything clicked after attending a European Wedding , “This is it “ . I can design weddings and share my love through each pedal with our Designs. I now get to share what I’m truly passionate about and show the love that I have for florals with you . We make your dream come true by turning each pedal into your own dream wedding .

My name is Rachel and I am the lead floral designer of Velvet Blooms. After studying music with an emphasis in vocals, I began to rethink what my creative path would be. With mentors such as Laura Williams of Poppy Hill Flowers and good friend Kelsea Olivia Gaynor of East Olivia, I began my journey into floral design and never looked back!

Meet Taylor, Jesus lover, proud mama, business owner, floral designer Taylor is a Southern California Native specializing in organic floral design. Taylors journey to floral design was not intentional. While suffering through a season of difficulty regarding her health, she found that what brought her the most peace + comfort was being outside and playing with flowers in her driveway. Making arrangements out of anything she could find. It wasnt long after that God stepped in and provided her with opportunities to pursue what is now known as Thirty- One Petal.

I'm a Southern California native + a lover of nature and always having an appreciation for what the outdoors has to offer. It wasn’t until I got older that I really started enjoying the beauty of flowers and the happiness it brings me. Our vision gravitates toward non-symmetrical pieces of art that come from the root of the earth. We always tell our clients to envision taking both of their hands and grabbing a bundle of flowers and foliage in one grab and leaving as is, natural and raw. That's how we like to design. Wood & Word Blooms is run by a Jen Angle, former teacher of 20+ years and specializes in using hand-painted wood flowers along with a faux, dried and preserved florals (nothing fresh here) to bring your wedding vision to life not just for that one glorious day but forever. Besides designing for you, I also offer DIY Wood Flower Experiences to create your wedding florals alongside me in person or virtually and 1:1 sessions to help DIY brides learn to do it themselves.

Believe it or not, we often have people ask if our pictures throughout our website are showing a mix of fresh and faux and…no they aren’t! Although fresh florals are pretty, we are totally in love with poser-blooms all the way here and that’s what we design 100% of our orders with.
