I married my now business partner and best friend of twelve years on a warm summer evening in August beneath two immense magnolia trees. We currently spend our time between an old farmhouse in the heart of wine and hunt country and Lake Norman with our dog Endo, two cats and two horses.

My name is Alyona V Kolesnik and I love everything that makes memories. From writing everything in journals since third grade, to printing photos from my phone, and now making memories with you! I started off with taking millions of pictures of trees and flowers, my siblings and food when I was 12 years old - the more I did it, the more I realized I want to share the joy in photos with those around me. I moved to New York City from a small town in Pennsylvania when I was 18 years old to study fine art and photography at Parsons School of Design. After college I was awarded a Fulbright grant to spend a year and a half photographing life on the Greek island of Kythera. When I returned to New York I decided to start a wedding photography business that would incorporate my fine art background with a photojournalistic style of shooting, and FOTOVOLIDA was born.
