What keeps me wanting to photograph more weddings is the realization that every wedding carries a different story longing to be told. No two weddings have ever felt the same to me, and when I walk into yours, all the images I have made at other weddings are forgotten. I see it a bit like jazz, or French cuisine--the ingredients are simple and pretty much always the same, but the outcomes are always unique, never to be reproduced to the identical.

Before I ever held a camera, as a kid I was obsessed with organizing and reorganizing printed family snapshots in albums. This infatuation with captured moments, led to picking out my first film camera, a 35mm Pentax, film developing and darkroom printing in high school, and then my BFA in Photography Degree. From there, I worked in varied sectors of photography, but my true passion lay in documentary work that could bring about awareness of challenging global situations. I have published and exhibited journalistic series internationally, notably at Oxford University and Aperture Foundation.

CLY BY MATTHEW has evolved at year 2004 from fashion, portrait and still life photography to the wonderful world of wedding photography, which incorporates all three genres. Hi! We're Jeremiah & Cody. We met working in a music store in 2009 and instantly became like brothers ("Did we just become best friends?" "YUP!"). In 2011, Jeremiah's wife volunteered him to shoot her sister's wedding and he genuinely enjoyed it. So, he began shooting weddings. In 2016, Cody graduated RIT with a Visual Arts degree and was looking for his next move. Luckily for all of us, Jeremiah talked Cody into relocating to the Hudson Valley to help him with his weddings. And here we are! The two of us get really excited to take really cool pictures.

My approach is simple – I love to capture love, and I want to provide you with imagery that you will cherish forever.
