The only exception to this would be a short period of time to get formal portraits of you and the people closest to you. Two Upper West Siders. Twenty blocks apart. How had we not crossed paths before? Or did we? Well, after finally matching on Hinge we made that happen and the rest is history! We have combined families and now as a family of 7 (three dogs, two cats) we have become an unstoppable force. We both share the same passion for photography, capturing the beauty all around us and making magic happen. Our dog Lucy, embodies love, kindness and poise. We couldn’t imagine naming our business after anyone but her. That’s how Love, Lucy Photography came to be.

We all start this wild journey one way or another. My way? I was introduced to Ansel Adams’ work in a Photo 1 class in high school. How would the kids say this… his black and whites were giving adventure? What I mean is, they were nice. I had already been hiking the Adirondacks for 15 years at that point, why couldn’t I do it? Why couldn’t I take those photos too? I set out to prove to myself I could. Over the past decade I’ve evolved from landscapes to sports to family portraits to weddings. I continue all of those today. I bought my first DSLR camera in 2004 when my now wife, Tracey, and I were taking a cruise to Alaska. For a monumental trip like this, I HAD to get an amazing camera. Those 8.2 megapixels with nine four points had me in LOVE. Ever since then, the ability of a photograph to be able to freeze time; freeze an emotion; freeze a memory has kept me addicted. Whether it’s getting a great angle, finding light that tells the story, or capturing the true personality of someone; it all brings a smile to my face and hopefully yours!
